Asbestos

Luxborough Tower was built in the 1960s so there is probably asbestos in the walls, placed there for fire resistance. If not already removed, it may be found, often at low levels, in the heat exchanger box, in the bathroom and toilet walls, under the wooden internal staircase, in kitchen panels and in some of the lunettes above internal doors. Even, perhaps, in the Artex in the ceilings. Westminster Housing can give residents a location report and there is a safety leaflet about asbestos on the Westminster Housing website.
